5 Things you Need in an Internet Marketing Hosting Service

My biggest mistake when I starting my Internet Marketing Home Based Business was getting my first Hosting Account that ran on a Microsoft Server.

What I didn’t know was that most if not all of the good Internet Marketing Website Programs and Scripts run on PHP Scripts and you need a Linux Server to run them on.

One of the first programs I brought was an exit pop-up program that would pop-up when the user tries to leave the page.  When I unpacked the zip file, I found out the web pages were in PHP, not HTML.  At that time I didn’t know anything about PHP files, but it wasn’t hard to learn a few things fast.

I found out that I needed my webiste to run on a Linux based Server.  So if you are just starting out and need a new hosting account you need to make sure you get a few things.

5 Things you Need in an Internet Marketing Hosting Service

  1. Linux Based Server
  2. CPanel – This is you admin panel where you edit your website.
  3. Fantastico – This is part of CPanel where you can install blogs, forums, surverys  and many other programs that can run on your website.
  4. MY SQL Databases – This is a database that will hold all your customer information and website data.
  5. PHP 4 or Higher – This is the programming language that your website runs on.

Just remember the main thing is that you need an Linux Based Hosting Account for Internet Marketing.  I started using 1and1 Website Hosting but they don’t have a linux account with CPanel, so I don’t recommend them to Internet Marketers.

I recommend getting a NameCheap Hosting Account, as this is what I am using today and they are great to work with.
