How to Use Anchor Text for Inbound and Outbound Links

If you want to increase your search-engine rankings, one great way to do this is to use Anchor Text in your Inbound and Outbound Links.

What is Anchor Text?  Anchor Text is the clickable text that users can click on to go to another webpage or website.

Examples of Anchor Text:

Which one do you think Google will give you more credit in your Search Engine Rankings?

  1. www.im-organizer.com
  2. Click Here to visit Internet Marketers Organizer.
  3. Save your Internet Marketing Business Information in a great Free Software called “Internet Marketers Research Organizer”.

All three of these Hypertext Links go to the same webpage.

Which one do you think is the most used Anchor Text on the Web?  If you guessed “Click Here“, you are right.

Number 3 is the best way to link back to your site from articles, forums, blog comments and any other links back to your site.  Even linking from one page on your blog to another page, you should use always use descriptive text.

One other thing Google looks at is the content of the text around your link.  This helps Google and other Search Engines determine what the webpage link is about.

One tip is to not use the same anchor text on all your inbound links.  Search Engines will rank you more highly if you have more variety in your text.
