How to Add a YouTube Video to your Word Press Blog
Adding YouTube Videos to your Word Press Blog is very Easy.
Let me show you step by step how to setup your blog and how to get the code from YouTube.
- Add “Smart YouTube” Plugin to your Blog. Login to your Word Press Admin area. Click on Plugins and then click on “Add New”. Type in “Smart YouTube” and click the Search Button. Install “Smart YouTube” and Activate the plugin.
- Next find a YouTube Video that you want to add to your Blog. Go to http://www.youtube.com. I like to login with my Google Account, as then you can subscribe to people’s videos that you like. Do a search for the topic you want.
- I did a search for “Affiliate Marketing For Beginners”. I normally look for videos that have a high views number. You want something that is very popular.

I found this video by the username netvicar. I clicked on the Headline and then you are taken to the video page.
- Now you want to look at the right hand side for a box like this. What you want to click on is the little blue button on the bottom right hand side.

- Click on this Blue Button and you will see the box below.

- Now there is a few things I would recommend you change. I would uncheck the box for “Include related videos”. If you don’t they will show related videos, and when someone clicks on them, they will leave your blog and go to YouTube. You want them to stay on your Blog.
- I like to check the box “Show Border” and pick one that matches your blog colors. I also like to make sure the video size is “425 x 344″ as this size I have found is great for my blogs that are 3 columns wide.
- When you make these changes, the code is updated. You want copy the code after “URL”. Do not copy the Embed Code.
- Take this code and paste it into your blog post where you want the YouTube Video to show up. Here is the code that I copied, (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wqVmwQ4I79A). See how it shows up as a link in the post now.
NOTE: Paste this code in the normal “Visual” editor, not the “HTML” editor.
- Then all you need to do, to make the video show up is to change the link. To make this work, all you need to do is add the letter “v” to the http part of the link. Change “http://” to httpv://”.
- So just adding this letter to the code will make the video show up like below.
This is very easy, but if you run into any problems, just leave a comment and I will work with you to find the answer.

I simply click on the HTML tab and insert the embed codes, and my video shows up.
Hello Rita,
To make this work, all you need to do is add the letter “v” to the http part of the embed code. Change “http://” to httpv://”
Example:
Change: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wqVmwQ4I79A to httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wqVmwQ4I79A
Any other questions,
please just ask,
